Vintage & Upcycled

Since our start in 2006, we have loved vintage and antiques. That is why it is now a natural part of Olsson & Jensen’s identity. It’s about a deep love for sustainability and the beauty in imperfection. A cabinet with patina that tells more than a thousand words. A worn mirror that has welcomed many faces over the years. All our items are handpicked, each with its own story.

Antique, vintage, or upcycled?

To make it easier for you as a customer, we have chosen to differentiate between the terms:

An antique piece of furniture is at least 100 years old, while a vintage piece is a few decades old, usually 20–30 years, and may have undergone minor adjustments.

Upcycling, on the other hand, means creating something new from old materials. It’s not vintage, and not antique - but always sustainable.

The quest for the unique

Each piece is carefully and thoughtfully selected on-site in India. We search through large warehouses, amid a sea of old items - and amidst it all, we find the few special pieces with the right feeling, patina, and character. In many cases, only a gentle cleaning is needed.

In some cases, a piece of furniture is complemented with a door. Regardless of the type of restoration needed, it is always done using reclaimed wood - to preserve the old.

Choosing vintage and upcycled pieces is for us much more than a trend - it’s a conscious choice for both sustainability and quality. By giving new life to old materials, we reduce waste, preserve craftsmanship traditions, and create homes with soul. We call it design that does good.

For us at Olsson & Jensen, it’s not just about furniture - we see potential, soul, and history in every detail. The grain in the old wood, the faded paint, and the marks of time give each piece its own character. We find value where others see junk and choose the unique over the mass-produced.

Behind every find lie hours of careful searching in old warehouses, factories, and hidden corners. Each object carries its own story - and now awaits the next chapter in yet another home.
